This is one of the greatest trophy bulls I've ever take and one I will never forget. My client and I were hunting in the Moyowosi Game Reserve when, up ahead, we spotted a herd of about 200. They were going to water. Because my client could not walk quickly or for long periods, the distance between us kept increasing. However, once the herd had finished watering they came back on their tracks and were soon walking directly towards our position. It was then that I noticed this great bull standing and looking at us. Still too far away I took my client closer until we reached a small tree. My client aimed and fired a shot with his .500 bolt gun striking the bull flush on the bridge of his nose. The bull fell to the ground with spectacular results. However, in short order he rose to his feet and ran like hell. I fired a well-aimed shot from my John Wilkes .500 Nitro Express and dropped the bull in full stride. This is one of the most beautiful looking bulls I have ever seen. The hunt for this bull is featured in the movie Africa's Black Death.
